TRENT LOWE RACE REPORT

Round 6 of the NORBA series was held last weekend in a small Utah resort known as Brian Head. It was a very difficult race at high altitudes, ranging from 2,926.1m to more than 3,352.8m. After some climbing from the start, I lost some of my time and I regained some positions on the long, fast, and very enjoyable descents. They were gone again as the race went uphill. Unfortunately, it felt like someone had turned off the Power switch in the last ten minutes. I lost about five more positions, but I still had a lot fun on the single-track descents.

Sunday’s lung-busting short track was at 2,926.1m. I was knocked out of the gun and had the challenge of chasing the entire race to finish 6th. A better start would have allowed me to be on the podium. However, it was a wake-up call and I need to run some more races in my legs to get my confidence back.

Now I have a few more weeks to get some training done before heading to the east coast to take part in the final two NORBA rounds, and then worlds in a month.
